London South
London is the world’s leading financial centre, a rapidly growing hub of international commerce home to nearly 1 million businesses and 9 million people.
Significant investment in infrastructure means the city’s better connected than ever – to the rest of the UK and the world.
But maintaining its enviable position means providing the built environment to match. With the city’s population increasing by a double-decker bus load every eight hours, it needs 42,000 new homes a year and 110,364 new school places by 2021.
London’s public sector is working hard to deliver more with less, secure sustainable growth, strengthen communities and keep London competitive. A £600m city-wide scheme is creating 30 housing zones, 75,000 homes and 150,000 jobs over ten years. The Nine Elms regeneration on the South Bank is on course to become a major new district over the next ten years and new infrastructure includes extension of the Northern Line by 2020 and the Thames Highway Tunnel.
Through our suite of construction and consultancy frameworks in London, we’re proud to play our part. Scape is working on iconic projects like the University of Greenwich Dreadnought Building and the Thames Barrier, partnering with the public sector across South London to efficiently deliver the assets, infrastructure and estate needed to support service delivery and drive economic development.
