"New housing scheme in Chorley, providing modern, comfortable living facilities for the over 55s"

Chorley Council have commissioned Perfect Circle to provide Project Management and Quantity Surveying services for the delivery of purpose built sheltered accommodation. 

Through the National Built Environment Consultancy Services framework, the housing scheme, aimed at over-55s, is being built on a former long-stay car park.

The complex will provide 47 one-bedroom and 18 two-bedroom rented apartments. In addition to the residential plots, there will be amenities including a café, laundrette, community room, hair salon and dance hall.

To address the unease of stakeholders regarding the loss of a car park, the team supported the council in proactive community engagement activities.

The scheme needs to meet Housing our Ageing Population Panel for Innovation (HAPPI) standards. These set out ten design recommendations for housing the elderly, including but not limited to: energy efficient ‘green’ buildings, natural light and ‘care ready’ homes to accommodate emerging technologies. 

The Perfect Circle team will maintain a site presence and assess progress on site to ensure key construction milestones are met and provide solutions to any issues that arise during the course of construction.

The scheme will not only provide much-needed affordable accommodation for older people in the town who may need extra care and support later in life, it will also bring residential areas back into the town centre which is part of our town centre masterplan.
